Full Hookup RV Sites in Bay City, TX: What to Expect

If you are rolling into Bay City, Texas and need a reliable place to plug in, you want to know exactly what you are getting before you pull through the gate. Full hookup RV sites are not all created equal — and knowing what to look for saves you a lot of headaches on the road.

At Bay City Holiday RV Park, we offer full hookup sites with everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you are passing through for a night or settling in for a month.

What "Full Hookup" Actually Means

A full hookup RV site gives you three connections at your pad:

  • Electric — 30-amp and 50-amp service available
  • Water — fresh water connection at your site
  • Sewer — direct sewer hookup so you never have to haul to a dump station

This is the gold standard for RV travelers. You run your air conditioning, keep your refrigerator cold, fill your tanks, and drain your gray and black water without ever leaving your site.

Electric Service: 30-Amp vs. 50-Amp

One of the most common questions we get is about amperage. Here is the quick breakdown:

30-amp service works for most Class B and Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. It gives you 3,600 watts of power — enough for your AC, microwave, and standard appliances running at normal loads.

50-amp service is designed for larger Class A motorhomes and big fifth wheels with dual air conditioners, washer/dryer combos, and multiple slide-outs drawing power simultaneously. It delivers up to 12,000 watts.

Bay City Holiday RV Park offers both. If you are not sure which your rig uses, check the shore power cord at the back of your RV — a 30-amp plug has three prongs, a 50-amp has four.

Water Pressure and Quality

Bay City's municipal water supply feeds our sites. Water pressure at the pad runs at a level safe for most RV pressure regulators. We always recommend using a water pressure regulator (set to 40–50 PSI) to protect your RV's plumbing — it is a $15 accessory that can save you a very expensive repair.

A water filter inline with your hose is also a smart move for taste and sediment, especially if you are sensitive to municipal water flavor.

Sewer Connections

Each full hookup site has a sewer cleanout at the pad. You will need a standard sewer hose (we recommend a 20-foot hose for flexibility) and a donut seal to make a clean connection.

A few tips for a trouble-free sewer hookup:

  1. Keep your black tank valve closed until you are ready to dump — never leave it open continuously or solids will dry out and cause clogs.
  2. Dump your black tank first, then your gray tank. The gray water flushes the hose clean.
  3. Use RV-safe toilet paper to avoid buildup.

Rates at Bay City Holiday RV Park

We keep our pricing straightforward:

  • Daily: $50/night
  • Weekly: $225/week (save $125 vs. daily rate)
  • Monthly: $425/month (electricity billed separately based on usage)

The weekly and monthly rates are especially popular with contractors and workforce travelers working at STP Nuclear, the refineries, and other industrial sites in Matagorda County. When you are on a long job, a monthly site gives you a stable home base without the uncertainty of nightly rates.

Beyond the hookups themselves, Bay City Holiday RV Park offers:

  • Wi-Fi — stay connected for work or streaming
  • Laundry facilities on-site
  • Clean restrooms and showers
  • Quiet, well-maintained grounds
  • Convenient location — close to Bay City's grocery stores, restaurants, and services

Tips for Arriving at a New RV Park

  • Call ahead if you have a large rig (40+ feet) or need a pull-through site
  • Arrive during office hours (8 AM – 7:30 PM daily) so staff can get you set up
  • Have your reservation confirmation ready
  • Level your rig before connecting utilities — it protects your refrigerator and makes life more comfortable
